Our purpose is to remove the barriers that can prevent people from making and experiencing exceptional music. We create welcoming opportunities for singers, players and audiences to come together, experience ambitious music making and feel part of a community where everyone has a place.

South West Philharmonia & Chorus is the flagship ensemble of Ensemble One, bringing singers and players together from across the region to experience ambitious, large scale choral and orchestral music making. At its heart is a welcoming musical community with a shared passion for creating memorable performances and bringing exceptional live music to audiences across the South West.

Ensemble One is founded and led by conductor and musical director Marcus Alleyne, supported by experienced musical leadership across both choir and orchestra.
